Dakini
Why so many different names?
The answer to this is "Grades".
Each "Grade" is different and it depends upon which version of the "Divine Law" that each "civilization" (or group) accepts.
For example, Group "A" may be offered a set of "Law" rules where (for example), it may say "thou shall not kill".
Group "A" rejects this version of "The Divine Law" and thus they are allocated a lower Grade than the group which accepts this dictum.
Group "B" may reject (for example) the law which says "Thou shall not steal" and they would also be assigned a lower Grade than a Group which accepts this as part of their "Rule Set".
Important
It is important to establish that there are 2 "common" versions of the "Dakini".
- is the spiritual entity referenced by many different cultures around the world - as a spiritual entity.
- is a "title" applied to women of great spiritual "essence" and accomplishments.
Version 1
This is a being of "Light".
But this light is different from the light you see from the sun or light bulbs.
How will I know when I see it.
If you imagine that the (light 2) you see all around you during the day is complete pitch black darkness and then someone turns on a a 10 million candle power (light 1.5) in the middle of that darkness, then you would still not get to see the true essence of the Dakini (light 1).
Version 2
This "title" is applied to women who are perceived as "Godly" in thought, speech and actions.
Similar to the way Christians call some "Saintly" and how the Ari'zal is often referred to as "Ha'Elo'he".
Kami
In Japanese, the word Kami has a general application - as in life force - as well as a much narrower application.
The problem with the word Kami is that people know "the word" but they have no idea what it "actually" represents.
The word "Kami" has multiple meanings.
Similar to the narrow application of the Japanese Kami, a Dakini डाकिनी in Sanskrit, Khandro in Tibetan, literally means "Sky Dweller" or "Sky Dancer," or "Sky Walker" and is one of the most sacred aspects of the feminine principle in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying both humanity and divinity in feminine form.
Because the original meaning was actually "Sky Dweller" and it has been corrupted to include highly spiritual women (at no dis-service to them personally), the true essence of the name Dakini has now been corrupted. (IMO)
For example, in Judaism, a highly spiritual woman may be (rarely if ever) called "HaElio'he" (Godly) but in most cases, these women are simply called Eshet Chayil (אשת חיל) which is a Hebrew phrase meaning "Woman of Valor".
Both men and women may be called "Righteous" - tzadika (צַדִיקָ male), tzadika (צַדִיקָה female), tzadeket (צַדֶּקֶת female) - but again, these "labels" are rarely applied in Judaism and like Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism etc, there is a reason for this lack of titles.
How many Dakini's are there?
That is a good question.
The anthropomorphic female representation is usually applied to a Dakini and thus the pronoun "She" is how they are described.
A Dakini appears in human Female form because this is more acceptable to our level of consciousness. If a Dakini appeared as a ball of Light or some kind of alien representative, most people would freak out, and some would completely lose the plot.
A "Daka" (pronounced as Dhaka) is the male energy which also appears in human male format - although these appearances are extremely rare.
Remember that spiritual "beings" do not have genitalia or even physical attributes like a body etc, so applying a gender is completely subjective.
However, there are many occasions where a Dakini or Daka "may" manifest their essence via a human body.
This is actually quite a common experience but most people are so out of touch with themselves that they completely miss these "esoteric exchanges". If you have been doing meditation for a long time - and you are NOT on mind numbing medications - you may probably be aware of these "esoteric interventions" which usually occur vocally.
REMEMBER: Do NOT listen to voices "in your head" as these do not represent Dakini interventions.
Interestingly and usually, the person telling you something does not even "comprehend" either "that" they said something - or - they have no idea what they just said.
A Dakini may appear differently and in various contexts and appearances and can be from playful to stern to fierce.
It is also important to note that there are often reports of the Daka or Dakini appearing to local people - and using the local beliefs of these people - to motivate and inspire them to do good or other spiritual message.
"He" or "She" may appear as a ghost like apparition, or "via" a human being, or as a goddess like apparition (like at "Fatima" , Portugal 1917), either peaceful or wrathful, or "They" may be perceived as the general play of energy in the physical world.
How a Dakini is perceived is usually based on the persons religious indoctrination or the local society's perception of some kind of religious (or other) icon.
Viewers may see or not see the apparition depending upon the viewers spiritual level.
In Buddhism, a Dakini represents the dynamic changing flow of "cosmic" energy which fluctuates on this worldly plane.
This sounds mysterious and esoteric but it is technically incorrect because there are no "accidents" (especially) on this scale in Creation.
A Dakini only needs the right spiritually pure person to act as a conduit for this spiritual energy to manifest itself into visual range.
This manifestation may be as a limited vision (where only the innocent can see them) or it may manifest as a tangible intangible. (something you can see but is not physically there)
A Dakini may appear also directly to a person, in their dreams, or via a third person (like a Medium if they are worthy).
A Dakini may also be responsible for "Dream Testing" you when you are close to ascension.
Also see First Contact below.
It is also said that the reason women are "generally" more psychic is because this energy is purportedly a feminine energy. Personally I think that women are more psychic than men because they are usually more grounded in reality and because there is less ego involved.
While a Dakini is almost always reported as Feminine, this in itself may be a part of a test as most things are on this level.
The test would be that most men are stimulated visually and thus a lonely man seeing THE most beautiful female apparition would be a test of his stoicism, focus and control.
This is yet another reason that the discipline of Controlled Meditation is superior to uncontrolled meditation.
So in Vajrayana Buddhism, the male equivalent of a Dakini, purportedly the female emanation of wisdom, is known as Daka in Sanskrit and Pawo in Tibetan.
Pawo literally means "hero" and it is accepted as the tantric equivalent of a Bodhisattva or "Rishi" or "Buddha" (enlightened one).
This accepted equivalent is actually factually incorrect.
A "Bodhisattva" is a person of high spiritual rank who returns to this physical plane to help enlighten others, while the Daka and Dakini are spiritual entities directly created as part of "Creator itself" as an "intelligent sentient interface" (Gen 10 GUI) for us to comprehend messages and other forms of communication between the Higher levels of Creation and our lowly selves.
Note that I specifically said "Higher levels of Creation". Exactly like a chain of command except you do not have personal opinions getting in the way of your requests.
What does get in the way of your requests is (1) Your personal vibration or lack thereof (2) Your personal agenda (3) The amount of Love and Charity in your heart (or lack thereof).
Christian Version
Many Christians would be familiar with this "visitation" event as it describes the "Fatima Miracle" perfectly.
This is where the 3 children (Portugal 1917) were given 3 visions of prophecy.
2 came true and the Vatican decided to withhold the 3 vision.
The 3rd Vision FYI was about the destruction of this planet by a highly elliptically orbiting Sun which will cross paths with our sun as described in many ancient literatures like "Worlds In Collision" and others.
And this is without getting info Hindu and Buddhist teachings.
Then you have Ancient Egyptian "mythology" where Hathor (symbolized as a women) but is represented in the celestial star sign or the Cow (modern day Taurus), with a red "sun" between its horns. More info here on the "Prophecy" Page.
You have a similar story in the Torah and the Christian bible in Genesis 15:9-18 of a burning torch coming down between the 2 split halves of the represented animals (star signs).
BTW: It is worth pointing out that the people who started attacking Velikovsky had never even read his books before they (metaphor) wanted to burn him at the stake.
Hebrew + Other Religions
In Judaism, a Dakini vision may be likened to seeing a vision of the Shekhinah (שכינה) - commonly referred to as "The Divine Presence".
The White Buffalo Calf Woman (Lakȟótiyapi: Ptesáŋwiŋ) or White Buffalo Maiden is a sacred woman of supernatural origin, central to the Lakota religion as the primary cultural prophet. Oral traditions relate that she brought the "Seven Sacred Rites" to the Lakota people.
Interestingly, in the ancient Bon (Bonism) religion "Shenlha Okar" and "Satrig Ersang" are the Bon equivalent of the Dhaka and the Dakini in modern Buddhism.
Shenlha Okar and Satrig Ersang are 2 of the "Four Transcendent Lords" for those familiar with the 4 cornerstones in Kabbalah.
"Ancient Bon" also revered another entity called "Khandroma" but I am not sure if this is another name for the Dakini entity or it is a seperate entity altogether.
In Christianity, the Divine Presence manifests as "Mary" as we see in the Miracle Of Fatima (Portugal 1917) . The "male" is not "commonly" identified as far as I can ascertain.
Taoism (Tao) means "The Path" and they have a complete ceremony to "bring" the Divine Presence.
This is done as a group where they sing Hymns, recite scriptures and say mantras including the the following mantras: the "Calm Mind Mantra" the "Jingkou Divine Mantra", the "Lingguan Mantra" and the "Land Mantra".
Tao Te Ching Chapter 1:
- The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao
- The name that can be named is not the eternal name
- The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth
- The named is the "Mother" of a myriad of things
This "Mother" is often referred to as the Heavenly Venerable - but this is a "general" title and not an identifying name per se.
From what I can ascertain, this is a ceremony to "invoke" the Divine Presence and it appears to be a closed and secret ceremony (as far as westerners are concerned).
It is called (amongst other names), the Invocation Of The Divine.
Google AI ↟↟
If you search google AI for "Shekhinah in other religions" - you get a negative statement.
If you search "list of religions which have the divine presence" - you get that there are many - BUT NO listings of which religions per se.
I should also point out that the Shekhinah "The Divine Presence" has nothing to do with human women.
Despite gross misinformation on TV and movies, the "Shekhinah" is not the same as a Tzadik or "Bodhisattva" or Rishi.
In Mahayana (branch of) Buddhism, a "Bodhisattva" is an enlightened (righteous) person who is able to reach nirvana (Enlightenment) but delays doing so through compassion for suffering beings and to help as many people as possible elevate their souls.
Nirvana is often expressed as a place of perfect peace and happiness, like heaven. This is a 2 fold concept.
- 1) One concept is heaven itself where you "go" when you die. However, this is often an over simplified concept in the West because this down not include Karma or Reincarnation (Samsara).
- 2) The second concept is where you have completed your 500 "perfect" years on this level (planet) and you ascend up to the next level and then again up to the next level etc until you have completed all of the required levels and have ascended back to The Creator.
In Kabbalah, enlightened ones are referred to as Tzadikim like R' Hamnuna Saba. ( "Sefer Zohar" Ki Tetze - Chapter 11)
"Bodhisattva" 's (righteous ones) come back to the physical plane to help elevate specific souls and also general souls, like Adi Shankar-Acharya did for India or like the Ari''Zal did for R' Chaim Vital or the Dalai Lama has done for millions of seekers of a higher path.
In fact, just like the Dalai Lama, the Ari Z'al is held in such high esteem in many circles that he is sometimes referred to as Ari HaElohi (The Godly Ari).
These people have an elevated level of consciousness which is outside the normal "blinds" (adverb) that most people wear.
The word (name) Rishi may also apply to this class of people. Rishi (Sanskrit: ऋषि) means enlightened one [Buddha means enlightened one]. In Pali literature a "Rishi" is referred to as "Ishi".
Interestingly, Kabbalah talks about 3 grades of "mankind".
- Ish is the highest level (אִישׁ)
- the next level down is Gever (גבר)
- the lowest level is Ben Adam (Am-Ha-Aretz (עם הארץ) or man (people) of the earth)
My First Contact
My first encounter with a Dakini was when I was 18 and I was very arrogant so "She" left.
"She" came through a friend of mine (Pat C.) who was a spiritual medium and Pat's voice transformed into something you have never heard or would even expect to hear on this planet.
Now I will tell you a great secret.
If you are not drugged out of this world and you are in contact with your inner self, you will find that you are given messages (never harmful messages), many times during your life.
You will "feel" something else, (sometimes a nuance and sometimes very explicit) in the voice of the person talking to you and IF you are really in tune with yourself, you will often notice this subtle difference immediately and act accordingly.
NOTE that these are always positive messages and they are never harmful to either yourself or any one else.
My friend "Pat C." - a trance medium - was a heavy smoker and had a deep rasping voice, yet the sound that came out of Pat's mouth was unlike any sound I have ever heard (before or since).
To say it was beyond beautiful is an understatement.
It would be 9 years before I would encounter "Her" again.
Again it was my stupidity and arrogance which drove "Her" away.
I was even so arrogant as to believe that I was humble (because I told myself that I was) but "She" caused the true essence of myself to be exposed.
15 years later, I encountered "Her" again, and this time She did not say much, but I could feel that I was less arrogant. Note the word Less and plus the accompanying word Arrogant.
It is now 2026 - and many years later - and I patiently await another visit but this time, I hope that I am worthy of an extended visit and a polite discussion.
You see, I was given a beautiful opportunity - but I was too stupid and too arrogant to appreciate the magnitude and the potential opportunity of this encounter.
In my favor, I was honestly stupid and honestly arrogant which may explain the multiple visitations.
Perhaps I have missed my golden opportunity and "She" may not visit me again.
I had and still have NO desire for power or glory and anything else like that.
People who do seek these material things have very little chance of being visited.
Learn
For those few of you who are truly spiritual and truly seek the Creator, I hope you can learn from my immature mistakes.
If "She" does appear to you, please do not be afraid, and consider the fact that IF "She" wanted to harm you, "She" does not need to appear to you in order to do so.
The feeling you should get is one of absolutely intense joy and Love which should tell you of "Her" source.
But only if you are a good person with a good heart.
There is a saying that goes like this: "To a fool, time brings old age, not wisdom". So please learn from my deluded arrogance and be a better person than I.
When you take drugs or harmful medications, or fluoride, your mind become dull regardless of what you may think. When experiences like the above happen to you, your mind will be too "gone" to notice.
Remorse?
Am I filled with remorse?
No, remorse is not conducive to ascended levels of love.
I view all of my experiences a lessons, and hopefully I have learned to be a better person.
USA Version
Most of you have never heard of "George Washington's vision" at Valley Forge, have you?
There are a lot of debunkers of this event, but if you read the (supposed) transcript, then you will see that there are some interesting "guesses" contained therein.
Native Americans
Over the years I have read many articles about the Native Americans "Vision Quests".
Sometimes this was done seeking "purpose", sometimes for Enlightenment and sometimes as a rite of passage for boys to men ceremonies. "Vision Quest"
From my earlier research, it seemed to me that Native Americans were very lucky they had the mental aptitude to believe these higher encounters were not only real, but also possible to each individual.
Sadly, in todays society, people think they can only have celestial experiences by taking drugs.
The Native Americans could have taught us so many positive things if the invaders had not genocided so many of them.
Dakini Other Names
The Dakini is also commonly referred to by use of other names, such as (but not limited to) the following.
The Dakini is well known in Vedic texts including Hinduism, Bonism (Old), Shaivism, Shaktism, Buddhism (in general), Tibetan Buddhism and in Jainism.
And is well documented in the following languages: Marathi, Sanskrit, Hindi and Kannada + the Purana (texts).
Buddha Dakini ↟↟
Buddha Dakini is used to describe an enlightened spiritual "guide" who appears in the feminine form.
Dakas ↟↟
Daka or Dhaka is the "male" companion of the Dakini and some people say that the assigning of the "masculine gender" is associated with the British Raj who did not recognize women as being intelligent and thus capable of being designated independent until the early to middle 1900's.
This is just 1 example of too many:
There is a famous book called, "Bechamp Or Pasteur" researched and written by Ethel Hume and originally published in 1923.
However, it was originally published as being written by Douglas Hume (her husband) because printers would not touch a book written by a woman - heaven forfend.
It was later edited to say that the book was written by Ethel Douglas Hume (Ethel D Hume) as if it was a collaboration.
Imagine how much further we would have evolved if women had been part of our society instead of being ostracized.
Khandro-ma (Tibetan Buddhism) ↟↟
Refers to a female enlightened being, usually spiritual in nature but sometimes (rarely) ascribed to an enlightened human. (woman obviously)
Commonly translated as "Sky-goer", "Sky-dancer", "Sky-walker".
"Khan" meaning sky and "Dro" meaning traveling and "Ma" is associated with the Feminine.
The Chinese name is 空行母 and often depicted as a vengeful manifestation of "Heavenly" justice.
Khandro (Tibetan Buddhism) ↟↟
Same meaning as Khandro-ma.
However, "Khandro" is also a commonly designated name given to enlightened women. More common than Khandro-ma.
Kurukulle (Kurukulla) ↟↟
In Tibetan Buddhism, the Kurukulle is a feminine deity associated with control, magnetizing and enchantments - including beneficial conditions to her devotees.
The Kurukulle is often depicted as being red-skinned in a dancing posture (often bent in dance with one foot off the ground), holding a bow and arrow.
The Kurukulle is considered a manifestation of the Red Tara.
The Kurukulle is also called Rigjay, Rigjed, Rigje and the "Red Tara".
Naro Dakini ↟↟
Naro Dakini is a Buddhist deity, a specific form of the VajraYogini in Tibetan Buddhism.
She is a "sky walker," and represents the enlightened female principle and embodying wisdom and power.
VajraYogini ↟↟
The VajraYogini is interesting given that "she" has the word Vajra at the beginning of the name.
A "Vajra" is a lightning Bolt (think of Greek mythology and Poseidon's Trident) and "may" be caused when another "Sun" or giant planet intersects our Solar System.
This is not as far fetched as you may think and in fact, there are many references to this exact event all around the world.
When the interloping "Sun" crosses our celestial path, the electro-magnetic discharge between our sun and the interloper would arc across hundreds of millions of miles and even billions of miles of open space.
The problem for most people being able to grasp this concept is that they think walking to the corner store is a long way.
A better explanation of this can be found here on the "Mars Thunderbolts Project" channel.
The "perigee event" would explain the Book Of Revelations 1,000 years of peace.
And the "apogee " would be 5,000 - 6,000 ± years.
This "Astrological" page may help explain it better in case you think that we are all alone in the Galaxy.
In seems that the VajraYogini appears to have close connections to the 21 Taras.
Yogini ↟↟
In modern usage, the term "Yogini" is commonly used to refer to any woman who practices yoga.
However...
In historical context, particularly in the Buddhist and Hindu tantric traditions, a Yogini is a spiritual teacher - represented in the female appearance - with mystical powers and is sometimes considered a semi-divine or even fully divine being.
DakiniTen (Japan) ↟↟
When the "Tibetean" Dakini entity entered Japan through esoteric Buddhism (Shingon), "she" became known as the DakiniTen.
This "Ten" has nothing to do with the English counting system - and in fact - in Japan - the letter "M" and "N" are often interchanged when being spoken (Like "L" and "R").
The Dakiniten was and is often associated with, and even conflated with the native Shinto deity "Inari", the god of rice, agriculture, and foxes.
Japanese depictions of the Dakiniten typically show her riding a white fox which is actually a slur.
Kami
Shinto also revere the "Dakini" as a "Kami" (神) which is a general term that refers to the spirits, deities, or "gods" in Japanese Shintoism, and it should also be noted that Kami can refer to a singular entity or plural entities and that Kami also means "Divine".
Other Cultures ↟↟
Side note:
Some western sources associate the Hindu goddess "Namagiri Thayar" with the "Dakini" but none of my Hindu friends agree with this notion - they say that "she" is specifically considered an aspect of the goddess Mahalakshmi.
Possible Others
This is a list of other "possible" entities for some of the "other" civilizations which have arisen and fallen.
These "Civilizations" "failed" because they did not listen and adhere to the Divine Wisdon which was imparted to them and they chose the corruption of the "flesh" path as described in the "Sodom Prophecy".
Other Possible Contenders ↟↟
These may or may not be "Sky-Walkers" (Dakini) entities.
There are some other "deities" associated with "Light" because they radiate light (actually they are pure Light but resonate in a visual human form to the people they appear to).
- Congo" Nzambici is the Sky Mother and Nzambi Mpunguis the Sky Father.
- Greek: Often called the "Earth Mother".
- Inuit: Anguta, sky father and Ataksak, goddess of the sky.
- Iroquois: sky goddess is Atahensic (or Karionake).
- Japan: Izanagi is the sky father and Izanami is the creator goddess.
- Korean: Hwanin is their sky god.
- Phrygian" Sabazios is their sky father.
- Thracian: Sabazios is also their sky father.
- Madagascar: Zanahary is a sky deity from the island of Madagascar.
