Top ShinTaro

Most people read a translation of something in English (or any other language) and never bother to check the original scripts, documents or other sources - and they just accept that the translations are accurate while in many cases, the translators have a personal, religious or financial bias.

Because if you do not know the true or hidden meaning of the words you are reading or believing in, how can you know if they represent The Truth - or they are simply based on personal or religious bias or subjugating ideologies?

Tracing back to the root meanings of many words is also important and the example below covers all of these aspects.

The ShinTaro Example.

To better explain this I will use the character ShinTaro (慎太郎 or 新太郎) from the fictional TV show called "The Samurai".

In Japanese:

  1. * "Shin" () means "New".
  2. * "Taro" (太郎) in Japanese means "Name".
  3. * "Shin" () also means "Divine".

Shin has the same sound, different Kanji.

While most people have heard of ShinTaro "the Samurai", (Onmitsu Kenshi) very few know the origins of the name.

The original name of the TV show was "Onmitsu" which means to be a spy, secret agent, or undercover detective.

Onmitsu literally translates to "hidden secrecy" or "concealed" but was used in the aforementioned context of spying.

ShinTaro was a fictional TV series character and he was played by (stage name) Koichi Ose (Ose Koichi) and real name His real name is Ose Kazunari..

ShinTaro was (in the script) a condubine half-brother of the Emperor and as such, he could claim his birthright to a "divine" lineage since it is claimed that the Emperor of Japan originated from "Celestial Beings" who visited our planet.

The Emperor of Japan's divine lineage purportedly traces directly back to the sun goddess Amaterasu sent her grandson, Ninigi-no-Mikoto, to rule the earth, bringing the Three Sacred Treasures, (mirror, jewel, sword) - and is a cornerstone of Shinto belief.

ShinTaro was trained by the best swordsmen in Japan at that time and because of political "intrigue" (gossip), he decided to leave the safety of the Royal Palace and go and help the poor and needy to fight injustice - while spying for his Emperor brother.

As the story goes, he chose to leave the palace and wander the land of "Ezo" (modern day Hokkaido) and right the wrongs being perpetrated on the people. (Japanese version of Robin Hood)

This is why in some series, you see "Daimyo's" bowing (Ojigi (お辞儀)) to him and he just does a short curt head nod in reply instead of the 30 degree bend if he was subservient.

FYI

There are 5 main types of bows in Japanese society and they are the • very short head nod, • the 15 degree bow, the most common 30 degree bow, • the 90 degree bow (for humble appologies) and then you have • the fully prostrate laying on the floor when you think your life is about to end.

I have only seen this prostrate bow once when one of my staff messed up and it was only after they did the laying on the floor business that I got very annoyed with them and told them NEVER to do that again.

Everybody makes mistakes and the best people are those who make a mistake and genuinely do not want to do the same thing again. Just like when a bone breaks and when it heals, it is stronger.

As I said above, in Japanese, the word Shin may mean "divine | god | spirit".

Kami also means "divine" and this is where the word "Kami-Kazi" comes from (Kazai) - it means Divine Wind.

English also has many which are spelt the same but have different meanings, like minute, read, bark, etc etc.

SUMMARY

This is why it is important for you to understand if the words you read have multiple meanings and also, if they do not even mean what they are claimed to mean - which does happen.

Believe it or not, but the word "Lucifer" comes from the latin which actually means Bringer Of Light but it has been twisted by "The Church" into a completely false context.

Please do your own research - and DO NOT TRUST ANY because these answers are taken from a general concensus which means (in many cases) online gossip and inuendo.
