The Dark Side Of Predictions
The Dark Side Of Predictions happens when you are told a prediction and you do nothing to contribute to the prediction | or | you do nothing to stop the prediction.
I have met people who told me that they went to a psychic and were told that they would be rich "next year".
I asked them what did they do?
Some told me that they went home and waited, some quit their job, went home and waited and some just waited with great expectations. (not the book)
I would ask the home sitters if they bought a lottery ticket or any other "potential" method to enhance their prediction coming to fruition?
Strangely, they all said No (from memory).
The Dark Side Of Predictions is doing nothing to "cause" them to happen or not happen (as in the case of negative prophecies).
Think about this.
If you are told that you will drive your car off a cliff tomorrow, wouldn't you drive more carefully or even "not at all" on that day?
Prediction or Prophecy or Premonition?
Prediction and Prophecy ↟↟
Prediction and Prophecy are 2 very interchangeable words both of which have similar meanings.
Generally speaking, Prediction applies directly to a person or event, while a Prophecy usually has some kind of biblical or more mystical connotations which are typically applied to society per se - however, not always.
The word "Prediction" is generally applied (in the English language) to events which may happen soon. Such as a horse race, tarot readings, elections etc.
The chance of accuracy is only equal to the number of variables within group (pool / lot) being decided on. For example, if there are 15 horses, (or camels or turtles) in a race, the odds are 1 in 15 that you will pick the winner.
These "odds" may be shortened in your favor if you know more information about not only each "player" in the competition, but also the training technique of the trainer or coach.
If there are 49 numbers and you have to pick the 6 winning numbers (in any order), then the probability of "predicting" the winning numbers is 1 in 13,983,816. "Winning Lotto"
.
I have heard people say that Predictions are more accurate while Prophecies are open to "interpretation".
If Predictions were more accurate, then there would be thousands of more millionaires at the race track.
Predictions are also open to interpretation by anyone who hears them.
I have also heard many people try and twist predictions - especially from psychics into god or the devil "did it" events. Usually it was the devil that made them do it.
How Can I Change This?
If the prediction is positive, then please consider these steps.
- Focus on the prediction so that in your mind, it has "already" happened.
- Meditate for at least 60 minutes a day using positive affirmations pertaining to the prediction.
- MOST IMPORTANT
- DO NOT buy tickets to any small stakes game - in other words...
- ONLY buy tickets to BIG winning events (like the multi-million dollar lottery etc).
Story 1 ↟↟
This one combines Prediction and Premonition.
A lady I know personally was given a blessing to "win" and the very next day - "tomorrow you will win" she was told - anyway, we were all sitting down in a coffee shop when she suddenly stood up and announced that she was (literally) "Going To Win" the shopping center "give-a-way". (Premonition)
So off she went and walked approx 50 meters to the give-a-way stall and won $3's worth of garbage (rubbish) bags.
So I asked her why she did not walk 60 meters further to the (multi-million dollar) lottery counter and buy a ticket there?
Surely when you are that positive you are going to win "something", then surely a ticket for $10 million, $30 million or more must be a better win choice than $3 worth of plastic bags?
Making smarter choices is always a better idea.
Story 2 ↟↟
Another friend of mine (Benny) whom I had known for a long time and I knew that he did not drink, smoke or gamble (think frugal) sat down beside me on the local bus (he lived next to me).
He was very excited and asked me if I had even had a winning "Premonition"?
He told me that he was coming from the train station and passed a shop which sold lottery tickets, when he was suddenly overcome with a Premonition that he needed to buy "something".
Anyway, like I said, Benny was very tight with his money so he decided to buy a $1 "scratchie", but the shop had sold out of $1 scratchies, so he reluctantly decided to buy a $2 scratchie instead.
He won $10,000.
SO I asked him, what if you had bought a ticket in the $20 Million lottery that week?
He was silent for the rest of the bus ride home.
Story 3 ↟↟
This story was told to me by a good friend who knew this gentleman personally. It goes like this...
A man went to see his Guru to beg for help for his family.
Hi Guru simply smiled at him and said, "here, take this lucky coin".
He put the coin in his pocket and left - quite angry I may add.
He thought, "How can I feed my family with this one coin?"
As he was leaving the placewhere his Guru lived, a small boy approached and offered him a ticket in a chocolate lottery. The ticket cost exactly the amount his Guru had given him, so the man - who was still very angry - gave the coin to the boy, got the ticket and wrote down his address, then left.
A few weeks later he got a knock on his door. He opened the door and a man was standing there with a large box of chocolates.
"Congratulations" the chocolate man told him, "you won".
** For the racists, the term "chocolate man" is used to define the company and has nothing to do with race or color.
Lesson Du Jour ↟↟
Anger destroys your focus and your ability to make wiser decisions.
If this man did meditation on a regular basis, he (most probably) would have been able to control his anger and "perhaps, just perhaps, he may have used that coin to win something much more substantial?
