Transcendental Meditation (TM) Outdated
Similar to "Zazen Meditation" - TM primarily focuses on your thoughts - (primarily).
Let me point out what is wrong with this method.
Up until the mid-1900's, most "Monks" had no access to TV or Radio, Newspapers or the worst of all which was global gossip, and most may not have even wanted to have this access.
As such, their main focus would have been contemplative thoughts based on "Vedic Scriptures" or "Esoteric Concepts" or ""Zen" ".
This is vastly different to you and I and what we are exposed to on a daily basis, from the Internet, Radio, Movies, Newspapers, TV + general conversations and "Gossip" .
I read a (supposed) study once which claimed that the average (Western) 10 year old was potentially exposed to more information than one of their grandparents during the grandparents entire lifetime.
Consider how much information you take in on a daily basis - directly and subliminally - both audial and visual.
You see, the old Monks never had to put up with "Information Overload" in their lives and thus their main thought processes were directed towards both scriptures and verbal lessons of their day.
This is why "these days" - meditations that expound following your thoughts (IMO) are a massive genetic waste of time.
So if you are genuinely seeking potential enlightenment, please consider more advanced meditations like "Controlled Meditation" from the beginning.
You only have this lifetime - so ask yourself why would you waste such a golden opportunity by chasing every useless thought that popped into your head - especially given the amount of junk we are exposed to on a daily basis.
This is exacerbated for teens when they reach puberty and their hormones kick in.
My teacher told me that in modern days, information is like drinking water from the ocean, you can only process a small amount at a time.
Chasing extraneous thoughts is like being a Unicorn dancing in the rain before the flood.
Counter Point ↟↟
A counter point to what just I wrote above is that if (IF) you do not socialize at all, you do not listen to TV, radio, internet, you have NO friends and the "only" thing you do all day and night is to study, then perhaps, just perhaps Transcendental Meditation may be a good starting meditation for you.
However, if you really want a meditation technique which has a greater potential to allow you access to much higher spiritual levels, please seriously consider a more advanced meditation like "Controlled Meditation" from the beginning.
How To Do Transcendental Meditation
Please read why Transcendental Meditation is outdated at the top of this page, before you read this section.
Before we begin.
I just checked out the TM.org website and they charge $540 if your income is less than $50K a year - but - they charge $980 is you earn more than $200K a year.
How honest does that sound to you?
Same lesson, just more vaseline.
So I will teach you this method for free.
I do not recommend this outdated technique because of the reasons stipulated regarding Transcendental Meditation being outdated.
Also, the "ceremony" they use is called a "PUJA" which is basically a religious offering ceremony and actually serves no real purpose except to offer you a warm and fuzzy hollow 5 minutes of your life.
Transcendental Meditation (TM) is where you take a basic Mantra and simply repeat it for the duration of your meditation session, which should be for at least 20-30 minutes once or twice a day.
That is about as complex as it gets - and ALL of that for only $500++.
If you get any thoughts, you think through these thoughts and go then back to your mantra.
And as I explain above, this method is completely OUT-Dated for 99.9999% of people in 2026 -- especially if you have access to a smart phone, internet, radio, TV, newspapers or even direct + indirect gossip.
Final Note: The so called "Confidential Mantra" that you are given may literally be ANY syllable at all and it may be a single syllable or a combined syllable like the following:
A single syllable is something like OM.
A combined syllable may be anything like this I-eek, I-im or any other 2 syllables of the alphabet combined (I-a, I-b, etc.
And then there are the Cotton Candy (Fairy Floss) one where you are told that you are special so you get I-Q, I-aM, I-C, I-B etc. This is a pinch of sugar spun into a lot of fluff.
So how do I do TM?
Lets Start ↟↟
- Wash your hands
- Wear loose natural organic clothing.***
- Sit on a comfortable chair or cushion where your back can be as straight as possible (do NOT lay down).
- Turn off all background noise, like music, someone talking, TV etc.
*** Loosen your clothing - especially if you are wearing tight fitting shoes, socks, undies, bra (things most people are usually unaware of) because you need to do deep breathing exercises.
*** Wear cotton, or linen or wool but never any combination of these.
Take 3 - 5 deep slow breaths and close your eyes.
Choose 1 random syllable or a conjoined-double-syllable as your mantra.
I was told that I could use incense or candles but I strongly advise against that for health reasons.
Do Nots ↟↟
- Do Not use candles
- Do Not use incense
- Do Not use any music
- Do Not smoke - anything
- Do Not use any recorded voice message
- Do Not take drugs before meditating
10 Second Meditation Ping ↟↟
Use this "10 Second Meditation Ping" to help you with breathing control.
1 Ping = Inhale for 10 seconds - next ping = exhale for 10 seconds - repeat.
Saving $$$ ↟↟
This just saved you $500 - $900.

Transcendental Meditation Levitation
One of the biggest (and expensive) scams I saw in my years of searching was the Transcendental Meditation Levitation scam.
I have watched "closed" groups of people literally bouncing up and down and the microseconds that they were "off the ground / floor", they were told it was them levitating.
I have witnessed some people actually levitate but they had NOTHING to do with Transcendental Meditation.
On YouTube there are some people who appear to levitate but you cannot see 360 degrees around them or under them.
For those who watch AGT, you may remember this guy named "Special Head", whom I deem as credible.
However, this is what I usually saw during the closed Transcendental Meditation "special" Levitation classes. "TM Scam" + "TM Scam"
Often the "venue" for this training was a single room, so there was No speed racing involved, just overweight people bouncing up and down and falling off oversized cushions.
Think of the spinal damage this causes.
This is how the "trick" is usually performed.
Warning
You have this lifetime to evolve or face the possibility to return to a much "darker" planet.
Please do not waste your time seeking to "walk on water" or fly through the air.
