What Is Samsara?
Samsara is often referred to as a state of impermanence whereby the person reincarnates "X" amount of times depending upon their current (or previous) life as a human.
It is sometimes referred to as "Walking Through" as in walking through different lifetimes.
Reincarnation is also referred to as Punarjanman (पुनर्जन्मन्) which is a Sanskrit word meaning "repeated births" and is a core concept in all tenets of the Vedic religions like Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism
We will only deal with reincarnation in human form for this page.
It is also important to note that being reborn is conditional.
The impermanence refers to the potential of these physical reincarnations all serving no real purpose.
How can it serve no real purpose you ask?
The answer is IF you waste your life on physicality and material things, including (but not limited to) money, sex, subjugating others, ego, arrogance and basically all of the negative narcissistic pleasures.
However, if you look beyond physicality, you will find the spiritual realm.
This is the realm of the soul.
One of the reasons that Samsara is such a big subject is because most people do not take into account the fact that depending upon what they do in each evolved lifetime will determine whether or not they come back as a human or a lower life form.
Bhavachakra describes the cycle of saṃsāra as being a wheel with six realms of existence in which a sentient being "may" reincarnate.
The words "sentient being" does not apply to those who return in animal or other lower life forms to repay their Karmic debt.
Please note that this reference to "sentient beings" applies to the LOWER GRADE of being sentient. Advanced "Sentient Beings"
rarely return back to this level except the few (per current generation) who come back as "Bodhisattvas".
Miriam Webster dictionary says that Samsara is "the indefinitely repeated cycles of birth, misery, and death caused by "Karma"
."
Miriam Webster is only telling part of the truth because it is possible for people to "evolve" OFF this plane of existence and go up to the next level much faster than returning for hundreds or even thousands of lifetimes. (see "Psalms And Karma"
for the shortcut)
It all depends on your deeds and intention.
Just remember that you can always fall down the ladder to a lower grade but it is hard to ascend up the ladder especially if you are self centered and arrogant.
Many people think that life is ultimately empty, especially if they lightly study Karma and the effects of rebirth.
"Meditation"
helps you become more conscious of your soul and its needs.
However
If you believe that the Creator is smarter that you, then there must be a higher logical reason, right?
A view of emptiness is not reason to act without considering cause and effect.
