How Many Levels Are There?
Firstly you need to understand that each "level" represents an entirely different "entity" from the level below (or above).
You also need to understand that each "level" below is referred to as "darkness" compared to the level "above" which is referred to as "Light".
For where we exist in our time and space, there are 7 of these levels referred to in Kabbalah as "Madrigot" מדרגה or steps in modern Hebrew.
Plus the "Source" level.
Important Note
This "Source Level" may or may not actually be what we would refer to as the "God of creation".
Also note that there are no "scriptures" or "teachings" that I have come across which confirm or deny even higher levels or dimensions above this "Source" level.
In My Opinion, seeking to know what is beyond the known source is like the "Walking On Water Parable",
it serves NO purpose except for the ego.
An example of this separation may be just like a programmer who writes a complex source code.
Ultimately, it is irrelevant to our current evolution spiritually.
Back to Madrigot.
Madrigot may also refer to levels, stages, grades, divisions, creations, separations ++.
This is one of the hidden meanings of the 7 days of Creation - "and there was evening and there was morning, day (?)."
Why does it start off with evening (darkness) first?
Because "The Light" already existed from inception.
Quantum Levels? ↟↟
In the example above, each of the "above 7 days" may be considered as the "Quantum Level" to the level below.
This appears counter-intuitive to how our common logic equates modern quantum thinking in that we assume that quantum means smaller and thus we need to descend in order to understand quantum.
Some of you may have heard the philosophical "riddle" that you "have to go down in order to go up".
But Wait, There Is More ↟↟
There is always more.
To understand even a small part of this, you need to know a few things first. Such as...
To comprehend the basics of Creation itself, you first need to understand that "darkness" is actually a retraction of light.
Just as we cannot exist next to the sun, so "our" Universe - and all that it represents - cannot exist near the "level" above which is why the "darkness filter" was applied.
How Many Levels?
This is where it gets interesting.
Kabbalists generally state that there are 4 levels, but the Ari'Zal said that there are 5 levels.
In Kabbalah there is often a reference to these levels using the image of "Jacob's Ladder".
Many - even in Kabbalah - depict this ladder as having 4 rungs symbolizing the 4 "purported" levels above our current earth bound level. The level of "Action".
Yet like I said, the Ari'Zal says 5 levels - so this should mean that there must be at least 5 rungs on Jacob's Ladder?
However, some ancient sources also claim that there are 7 levels, which would imply that the ladder had 7 rungs.
Perhaps the top 2 levels are beyond the comprehension of people at our current level of consciousness?
And yet some say that there is an 8th level as well which is equal to the Shabbat.
And still I have heard that there must be 10 levels which correspond to the 10 Sephirot and the verse, "Let us make man in our image". ("Genesis 1:26"
)
This is (supposedly) where "man" symbolically represents physicality itself.
The point here is that you can waste your entire life trying to work out how many levels there are and gain absolutely nothing from it - just like the "Walk On Water"
Parable.
These sources claim that the 7 "Days" of Creation actually tell you "point blank" that there are 7 levels.
This is why the "day" starts off with night, then day.
... and it was evening and it was morning ... day one...
The 7 Days Conundrum ↟↟
Most people assume that the 7 days of creation apply to the numerical 7 days of our week, and they would be completely wrong.
The word "day" may be spelt as YOM or even just YM and from there it gets more confusing.
Check out the "7 Days Conundrum"
if you want to understand this common mistake better.
In case you are not yet confused?
Consider this: There is something called The Jubilee (Yuval in Hebrew).
The Yuval has a value of 50.
The Yuval comprises of 7x7 == 49 + 1 Supernal "value".
This Supernal "value" is represented by "The Creator" where it is said that X can equal Y if the Creator intercedes and makes it so.
There is actually a profound lesson here beyond the scope of this page. Perhaps another time?
If you are confused at this stage, do not worry, just remember this information for a later date when (hopefully) it will make sense to you.
This "suggests" that there are 7 "Levels" which are each sub-divided into "Grades".
In the Sefer Zohar, it says that there are 10 upper crowns and 10 lower crowns. (Soncino Press edition)
In my mind, I think that the Creator is a lot smarter than we give The Creator credit for.
For those of us who have died and come back (this lifetime), it is obvious that the structure of Creation is FAR more complex than the binary Heaven or Hell model we have been sold.
If the "system" is binary as some religions tell us, then how come people reincarnate?
This lifetime you may be a male and next lifetime, you may be female - just as you may be White this time, Black next time, Asian the time after that etc etc
"Islam"
preaches that there are "No Black Women In Muslim Heaven", and yet when "I Died"
, I had NO gender. Even "Black Men" are not spared Al-Hakim Al-Mustadrak 2463. narrayed by anas ibn malik and also see commentary by hamad hammud al-tamimi.
How can we die as a man and then come back in the body of a woman?
Please consider that your soul has no genitalis so it does not matter if you were a man and came back as a woman or vice-versa.
What is important is what you are in this lifetime because you are here to learn lessons that you can only learn in that body.
You need to also consider that there is a reason for so many "cycles" as well through which you will reincarnate.
Consider this
If you waste your time thinking about how many levels there are, consider what benefits - if any - you will get from such knowledge?
If you do not focus on being "In The Moment", then one day you will wake up and be half-past-dead and suddenly the clarity of how much time you wasted on superficial searching will dawn on you - but it will be a wasted life by the time that happens. Just like the guy who wanted to walk on "water".
This is why there are 7 "primary" levels between The Creator and our level of existence. Each of these levels is "split" like night and day.
This is why the old testament starts off by saying "... and there was evening and there was morning, day ..." This is because THE Light existed in the first place and then there had to be a subtraction (or filtering if you like) of that light in order for the level below to actually exist.
This does not imply or suggest that there are 7 dimensions, what it means is that between the Creator and our level of physicality, there are 7 distinct layers and each of those layers have a "Governing Structure" assigned to them. This is why the word "Heavens" (Shamayim) is plural in the Torah.
The totality of each "layer" is not clearly defined so in reality, the possibility exists for each layer to be sub-divided as well. In some cases, this is implied and in some cases, this is stated.
A "simple" physical example of this on our own timeline would be that a week = 7 days and each day = 24 hours and each hour = 60 minutes and each minute = 60 seconds.
This 60*60*24*365 is not exactly accurate and is here as an example only.
One of the interesting points which most people are not aware of is that when you die, time is fantastically different from what we know it to be, and that is just on our level.
There is no reference (yet) I have found which discusses time on levels above ours, but from my personal experience of dying (twice), is that time becomes dramatically extended (like when you stretch a rubber band) and the limits of this extended timeline is - to the best of my knowledge - still unknown.
An example of this is that seconds may (may) feel like days and minutes "may" feel like weeks on the "other side".
Sankara or Shankara
It is taught that when Adi Shankara went in search of his first Teacher, he encountered Shri Govinda Bhagavatpada who asked him, "Who are you?".
The young Shankara replied with the Nirvana Shatakam (Shatkam) poem - after which Shri Bhagavatpada took him as his student.
One of the most beautiful mantras I have even encountered describes The Creator. It is called "Nirvana Shatakam"
.
A Secret or 3 ↟↟
The first secret according to Kabbalah, if you remove the Vav from the word YOM (commonly used as the word for "day") in the 7 days of creation, you get YaM which may be interpreted - in Kabbalah - as "Periods of time". (This "time" would be associated with the creation of the first 7 levels.
"Yam" in modern Hebrew also means body of water. Yam consists of 2 letters, Yod and Mem (sofit) with and accent on the vowel "a", and this also represents plural (masculine).
The second secret ↟↟
The second secret is that the "First Day" is not actually called "The First Day".
It is in fact called Day One while all of the other days are called.
- "Day One" (י֥וֹם אֶחָֽד)
- Day "Second" (י֥וֹם שֵׁנִֽי) - compared to day 2 {יום שתיים}
- Day "Third" (י֥וֹם שְׁלִישִֽׁי) - compared to day 3 {יום שלוש}
- Day "Fourth" (י֥וֹם רְבִיעִֽי) - compared to day 4 {יום ארבע}
- Day "Fifth" (י֥וֹם חֲמִישִֽׁי) - compared to day 5 {יום חמש}
- Day "Sixth" (י֥וֹם הַשִּׁשִּֽׁי) - compared to day 6 {יום שש}
- Day "Seventh" (אֶת-י֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י) - compared to day 7 {יום שבע}
"Day One" alludes to the fact that this "level" is the closest to unity with the Creator - and when (if) you eventually are able to ascend to this level, you will finally get to know the answers to most of the questions that you have not yet thought of.
Those of you with a discerning eye will notice that for the "Sixth and Seventh" day, the letter Hey (הַ) appears - but is not mentioned in the first 5 days. This tells you that something especially interesting happened on those last 2 "days". (periods of time)
Then on The "Seventh Day" you will notice that the (word) ET (אֶת) {or ETH} appears.
Those of you with a True heart should meditate on why these 2 events happen if you want answers. You need 1 more clue.
This is purportedly "created" by "God" so if this is true, one should assume that "God" is very very clever and spelling mistakes are not a "thing".
This would mean that these words are deliberately written in a specific manner for a specific reason. Kind of like a computer program when the code is compiled.
Do not use your limited logic to find the answer.
One of my Buddhist teachers told me, "Do not see the universe, BE the universe".
It is only possible for you to discover such sublime esoteric answers if you meditate on these words with a pure heart.
You should at least try and you never know, if you are genuine, you may just help "rectify" (Tikun) your own soul so that you do not need to return to this planet.
TIP: You should also include the first sentence in this meditation (in biblical Hebrew) if you want to receive a faster answer.
The third secret is that the Soul Mate to the Seventh Day is a quasi day better known as Shabbat.
Shabbat contains many hidden mysteries which is why it was not allocated a physical day. The first step to connect with these many hidden mysteries is to listen to the silence.
Shabbat also represents the 8th level which is associated with "The Silence" (Kabbalah) or in Buddhism it is called The "Mind Of No Mind"
.
It is only at this level, that you can truly even begin to connect with the Creator - and guess what?
This is one of the reasons that you have a big brain, so that you will know that you can actually do this.
