The Haredi have many interesting stories such as how the Baal Shem Tov helped avoid the Shoah 300+ years ago.

WHY no one is taking notice of this completely amazes me.

The "story" shows how just 1 person helped save lives for over 200 years.

One day when I was living in Jerusalem in 1987, I met a lady who was a survivor from WWII.

She had the mentality of a spoilt child and would regale me with "stories" of how her family used to pay for others to come and daven for them.

She told me how her father would give the hazan the absolute least amount of money and then they would all laugh and enjoy their banquet.

She told me many stories, but these are the ones I remember the most.

This was mainly because I had just read William Shirer's book "The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich" and one of the things he had mentioned was the arrogance (in general) of the "well-to-do" Yidden prior to WWII.

This is something I see repeating itself today.

The letter Dalet (Daled) means poor (as well as humble or humility). Something clearly lacking in this woman even so many years later.

This story and the people who daven oioioioioi....... are the main reasons that afflictions come to those who (literally) desecrate HaShem by treating His word and people with arrogance and contempt.

This has the potential to raise Beni Israel up to Am Yisrael and be worthy of The Messiah which we are obviously not worthy as of 2025.
