Itzhak Bentov did not hold any formal engineering, university education or even any kind of formal correspondence university science degree.
Itzhak Bentov was a self-taught, highly inventive biomedical inventor and purported mystic, known for helping design Israel's first rockets and creating the steerable cardiac catheter.
Later in his life he experimented with Kundalini meditation and had what can be described as an "Awakening Experience" after which he wrote the book

It is important to note that he asked "scientific" questions and received "scientific" answers.
The "Truth" of his answers was displayed to him in concepts and images that he could comprehend.
It should be noted that regardless of how much truth there is or was in his answers, these "truths" were applicable to Itzhak Bentov at his level at that time and thus his comprehension and understanding unfolded accordingly.
These same truths may not specifically apply to you per se.
Having said that and with an open mind, it should also be pointed out that what he did get back was and is interesting (as per his book link above).
A Slight Digression ↟↟
This is my personal 2 cents.
I mean no disrespect to Itzhak Bentov but it should be pointed out that there are 2 important points here.
- He used unguided
"Kundalini"
- IF you believe that this is The Path, then you are possibly missing the point of your own life.
Let me explain.
When I was 17, 18 and 19 I was fascinated by the "Psychic World" and I spent many weekends and a lot of my $$$ at these psychic events, going to classes, attending "spiritual churches", seeking out top psychics etc.
I had many experiences, especially with my meditations.
I was lucky to have an English person who had lived in Tibet for over 10 years studying Buddhism who guided me through many of my weird "episodes".
Brian once told us (our group), that most experiences we would have are tributaries which flow into the main river (he used the word Amazon River in his example), but he also said that "people either try and stay in that tributary or follow their tributary experience to the main river and then follow the river".
He said that "The problem with following the river is that it flows away from "The Source" so we had to decide to flow down river or fight our way through the jungle to the next tributary and then the next etc until we find The Source".
Let me translate that for you.
It means that if or when you have an experience, you can stay IN that experience (or try to) or follow the experience to the river (which represents society and people) and immerse yourself in being psychic or something associated with the experience you had OR you can let go of THAT experience and see a higher truth (fight your way through societies jungle of confusion and lies).
Put Simply:
Seek The Creator and do not get distracted by titillating events which may happen in your life.
If you do have some kind of Psychic experience, it shows you that you are at the level of being tested and thus, you are capable of finding the
Seek your own path and your own experiences (my suggestion).
I must also add that I personally have tried many different methods to try and find which one suited me the best but in the end, I have come to the conclusion that these experiences are all part of the "Maze" of confusion and full of Red Herrings to distract us from our true purpose of ascension.
I am NOT decrying or disputing Itzhak Bentov's experience and I am NOT telling you not to try it, I am merely pointing out that his experience was just that - "his experience".
What I am saying is that after more than 49 years of searching, all of the good religions tell the same story which can be condensed into 4 or 5 sentences.
I call these
Seek The Creator with ALL of YOUR heart if you want to find The Truth.
Is there a Cheat Sheet?
Yes, there is a Cheat Sheet.
1) Firstly, you will need to have these
2) You can rectify your Karma and even elevate your soul by utilizing
What you decide is your choice but as I said, I have condensed all of the teachings down to the above 3 verses and this is the Universal Path which all can follow in Unity.
The "Bentov Meditation Method" utilizes Kundalini and I am not a fan of teaching Kundalini because I have been repeatedly taught that Kundalini should be started with an experienced teacher in attendance.
This method is too technical to explain here so I suggest that you watch this
