Who Or What?
For those who watch TV or movies or read books about "The Anceints - whether they be Mayan, Aztec, Egyptian or ANY other race - will see and hear the word "GODS" bandied about like confetti.
The gods this and the gods that and the writer or speaker - in most cases - has NO idea what they are talking about.
Thi sis because while there have been interventions by what we would classify as "Aliens" (or non Earth entities), the vast majority of these supposed "gods" are celestial "objects" as I discuss here on the 
Even today we still use the names of these "gods" in describing things like the days of the week, our planet EA-rth, the Sun, the Luna (moon) and the pantheon of planets in our Solar System + plus more.

Disrespect
One of the biggest problems we face as a general society is a complete lack of respect for most things, including Elders and society's rules etc.
This is caused in part by those before us who wanted to pillage and rape society to make money off the backs of the average person and when they did make money, how many of them reinvested back into uplifting the education of humanity in general and specifically?
Some of these include (but are not limited to) J.D. Rockefeller, The Rothschilds, George Westinghouse et al.
On the other side you have Nikola Tesla who tried to help humanity and was shut down by those in power (and Westinghouse) because they could not make money from Tesla's ideas like free electricity from Wardenclyffe is a perfect example.
So respect turned into greed and greed fathered disrespect.
And now we have some billionaires who think that they are god and that it is within their purview to decrease the global population by 6 or 7 Billion. Thanks B-ill.

Aliens that come to this planet are obviously much more advanced than us so to our primative ancestors, they appeard to be like gods, possibly because they descended from the "sky" (aka heavens).

It is obvious that NONE of these aliens are here to help us and there is a greater possibility that because this planet is not part of the Interglactic Treaty, that it is classified as an "Open Planet" and we are what technically amounts to as slaves digging up the gold and other minerals they need.
When the Spanish first arrived in South America and encountered the "Natives", they fould that the Natives had store rooms filled with gold bars.
When the Spanish asked why they had so much gold, the Natives replied that the gold was for this gods.
This is one of the underlying themes in the Stargate series which most people are unaware of (But they used Naquadah instead of gold).
FYI: Due to the formation of the Andes Mountains by subduction, there is a surprizingly large amount of discovered and undiscovered gold within these mountains - even today.

Delusion is where people have no respect for The Creator and they become mini-Neros thinking that they are gods or that someone has the power to become a god.
Not even The Messiah is god. The Messiah reflects the light of The Creator but "He" has no light of his own.
The same as the rest of us.
We can all reflect this light of enlightenment but it requires a serious rethink of our current society, values and actions.
The rea;;y sad part is that it is "often" the most intelligent people who become disallusioned with religion because they are given answers designed to placate those of peasant mentality.

In Hinduism there is an ongoing debate as to whether Lord Krishna is the same entity and Lord Vishnu.
One a "High" level, this is true because ALL is "One" and all is unity.
However, on a lower level by people with limited intellect (due to lack of teachings and not a slur), this is false because they see Lord Krishna as not only as an Avatar of Lord Vishnu, but AS Lord Vishnu per se.
In other words, they see 2 distinct entities instead of the Lesser one being a reflection (or attribute) of the Greater.
Unfortunately many people in Christianity and Judaism also have this Delusional misconception of duality.

In the same way that Brahma and Shiva are attributes of Vishnu. They may have been designated specific powers, but they are not the source.
In fact, one of the great debates between the Talmudists and the Kabbalists was that the Talmudists believed in One God but they thought that the Kabbalishs believed in 10.
The "Names" of the 10 Sephirot are attributes only and while there is certain powers assigned to them, this is only for the sake of Creation and not so that they can run off and create their own universes etc.
Think of them like a mirror (example only) - the image in the mirror may look like you but it cannot cook you dinner or drive your car.
In the Vedic texts and in the Hebrew texts, this is called "In The Image Of God" or a more direct bible quote (

Assigning god like status to Attributes is the same as saying that "a" hair on your head "is the same as you" and this it can perform all of the physical requirements that your body can do.
The hair on your head is there for a purpose, whatever that may be, but it is certainly not cabale of being you in totality.
Neither is the reflection in the mirror.
However, having said all of that, these attributes do have specific powers and some of these powers are good (for us) and some are not so good (for us).
Some are creative and some are destructive and most depend upon our actions (or inactions).
For example: IF you say the book of Psalms every day, you will draw light into the world, but if you do not even pray, then you let darkness encroach into our physical domain.
Both Light and Darkness exist as it says in Genesis 1:4.

Whatever "energies" we get from these attributes is totally dependent upon our intent and our actions.
If we fail to draw down The Light from The Creator, then our future becomes not just bleak and dark, but also terrifying as history has shown us from previous generations that went from advanced to the stone age with no explanation.
The "gods" to the ancients (especially the destructive gods) were ALL celestial objects, either suns of planets) and the problem is that over time people think that the Belly Dancing "Taras" (for example) are goddesses and write crap about them and worship them, but in reality, Tara means "Star" (Sun) in Sanskrit and therein lies the true meaning of the menace.
Some of the Egyptian pantheon, the Greek pantheon, the Mayan pantheon, the Nordic pantheon, the Roman pantheon, the Chinese pantheon, the Mesopotamian pantheon etc etc are all celestial objects which intersect our Solar System.
Unfortunately, the original lies written by the ignorant end up becoming some people's truths which they continue to fertilize and propagate onto the next generations - to the long term detriment of our overall society.
The real question in this story is this, Who was God addressing when He said, "Let US create man in our image"
