Top Amaterasu

Let me start off by saying that if you read almost anything about "Amaterasu" online, you will see that the "Council of Experts" have declared that the "Amaterasu" event was a Solar Eclipse.

What is annoying about this is the perpetuation of ignorance and the suppression of our ability to question events.

For example, Amaterasu is repeatedly reported to have "hidden in a cave" for 3 days.

I challenge anyone of these Council of Geniuses to name just 1 Solar Eclipse which lasted 3 days.

There are many other such events where the Sun has disappeared for several days and they have also been called Solar Eclipses which is not only incorrect, but completely dishonest.

Amaterasu ↟↟

Amaterasu is depicted as the Japanese sun-goddess and the legend says that "she" hid in a cave for 3 days, thereby plunging the world into darkness.

Images of Amaterasu typically show her as having "sun rays" emanating from her head. Click image to see.

Important

It is important to remember this - how you would describe (for example) a comet today, using a vast array of words at your disposal - is not how people 5,000 or 3,000 or 1,000 or even 500 years ago would describe the same event with an extremely limited vocabulary.

In most cases, people would have had an "Agrarian Vocabulary" at best - as we see from the cuneiform clay tablets out of Mesopotamia.

The Mesopotamia Vocabulary is dramatically smaller than that of their predecessors the Akkadians, and the Concise Dictionary of Akkadian, contains thousands of terms.

This may suggest that something dramatic happened which made the people dumber - which does not make sense - unless you compare this to the Australian Aborigines who circumnavigated the world and then reverted back to the Stone Age. (Why???)

Think about how you would describe a modern computer "tablet" to someone even in WWII - they would think you were nuts and you may even end up in "Bedlam".

Consider that your smart "phone" has more computing power than ENIAC or COLOSSUS or even the computers at NASA in their 1969 Space missions.

Amaterasu is said to have been born from the "Left Eye" of Izanagi the creator god.

FYI: Many Chinese and Japanese words are a combination of other words - for example: the video explains this perfectly. (Alternative Video + )

Izanagi is an interesting combination of "words".

Iza: In ancient Japanese, the word iza (いざ) functions as an interjection to enthusiastically encourage someone to do something, equivalent to "now," "come," or "well".

"Iza" per se is not typically used in modern Japanese (for "now") unless in comics, manga, myths and idioms. For example most commonly used word in modern Japanese for "Now" is "Ima" - pronounced the same and the Hebrew word for mother.

Nagi: First we need to disassociate this word from the Japanese word NAGA which (also) means "long".

However, Nagi'ee also means long.

If you check google translate, it says that Naga-sa (長さ) is long but that is not correct, Naga-sa means Length (how long when measuring something).

Nagi (Nah-eye 凪) is associated with a vast calm ocean which is how you might describe the night sky after a major celestial event.

While similar in meaning to the Hungarian NAGY, the Japanese word appears to have no connection. "Nagy" in Hungarian means big, large, or great" and is pronounced as "Nodge".

My interest is in the part of the description which is, "primarily means a calm or lull, especially of the sea or wind, signifying peace and tranquility after a storm".

Can you see a connection.

Izanagi with his sister-wife Izanami, created the Japanese islands and many other gods, including Amaterasu (Sun Goddess) and Susanoo (Storm God), but failed to retrieve Izanami from the underworld, leading to the separation of the living and dead worlds.

A dead sun may be construed as being black because the lights have gone out.

Now consider that the dynastic Egyptians have Isis and Osiris and Isis was Osiris's wife (companion).

Isis was considered black as in a black sun and she had a sister called Nephthys (Nebet-Het) "who" was also black.

Odin had one good eye and one eye missing - where the one good eye is the shining sun and the one missing eye is the black sun.

The Ainu (Japan) also have a legend about a black sun but this has been corrupted by modern historians from a black sun into a solar eclipse.

Solar eclipses are common world wide so why would the Ainu only have 1 major story about such an event when "partial" solar eclipses are common and even full solar eclipses are reported to have happened at least many times in the last 2000 years.

Japan is an archipelago stretching roughly 3,000 to 3,800 kilometers (around 1,900 to 2,360 miles) from north to south, spanning from the Sea of Okhotsk (Russia) to the Philippine Sea.

So the chances of a total eclipse at some point along this North / South axis is greatly increased.

Records show total eclipses "just" in Hokkaido - Northern Japan - occurred around 1636, 1742, and 1824.

So based on the + - 100 year event records, it is easy to see that there may have been as many as 30 full solar eclipses in the last 3,000 years.

Important ↟↟

Important Note that the so called academics conveniently overlooked.

Also, Solar Eclipses DO NOT last 3+ days.

Top Why Is Amaterasu Important?

Most people who hear about (or read) the Amaterasu story simply dismiss it as a myth or fairy story.

What people fail to realize is that Amaterasu actually depicts something which is written in many other "myths" and that is the darkening of the sun for at least 3 consecutive days.

As I previously pointed out, Solar exclipses DO NOT last 3 or more days.

Other similar (supposed) myths.

Some of these include the Hindu demon Rahu eating the sun, Maui and his brothers attacking the sun (Maori), Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the suffering of those days the sun will be darkened - the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken".

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

The Celestial Gods ↟↟

You also have to understand that "the gods" were seen as above humans and thus they "lived" in the heavens (sky).

And just like today, we refer to the realms above our planet as "The heavens", it should be noted that the word "SPACE" did not exist in ancient texts (at least not as we understand the word) and thus the "heavens" literally referred to everything which was "above" us.

We lived on a "Firmament" and it was assumed (generally) in most cultures that the "Firmament" above us was also inhabited by celestial beings. See also

Think about how you would describe space to the average 5 year old. NOTE: That while many societies may have had complex communal living arrangements, their comprehension about things above the Upper Atmosphere was almost non-existent.

If you want to see a few hundred examples of how the ancients referred to their please click here.

History Erased ↟↟

Note 1: the lack of complex language.

Note 2: the deletion of so many historical records either verbal or written from native peoples of colonized countries.

Note 3: Where you see Brazil, China, India, "Africa", Australia and even North America, you should also understand that MOST of the indigenous populations were either killed off with internal wars or died from diseases (like smallpox and venereal diseases) brought to their country by "invading" Europeans or others.

Note 4: See also by Dr Anatoly Fomenko Volumes 1 - 8.

North America.

You should also note that there were 574 federally recognized (2025) in North America alone before the British came - and while many from Western Europe had visited North America previously, including the Vikings, Irish and others, it was the perennial arrival of the British which caused the most damage to the indigenous natives.

The number of "tribes" and or the exact populations of countries around the world from even 1,000 years ago is virtually impossible to guestimate.

But what is certain, is that these had "myths" or stories passed on by their elders regarding events just like the Atlantis "myth" or the "Troy" myth etc.

Amaterasu ↟↟

Amaterasu represents just another spoke in the wheel of history which shows us that devastating celestial events repeatedly occur on this planet as I lightly cover on the page.

The Buddhists list which sounds cute until you realize that the Sanskrit word "Tara" actually means "Star".

So your next question should be this, "with the millions of visible stars in the night sky, why would the Buddhists only focus on 21?".

Suddenly the story of Amaterasu becomes much more important than we originally thought, but only if we are not too arrogant to take notice.

Please read the Astrological link just above - it is most interesting.

Top AmateKuro

Some of you may have heard of "AmateKuro" through Manga and Anime and in modren times, this is as far as most of us can go in researching this subject.

However, one of the "previous" inhabitants of the Japanese Islands (The Ainu) do mention a "black sun" (Kunne-chup-kamuy) but they do not use the now common Japanese expression "AmateKuro".

Important Note:

It is important to note that (sadly) even in 2025, many Japanese look down (racist) on the Ainu and dismiss many of the things the Ainu talk about as gibberish. In fact, the word for Ainu (アイヌ pronounced as Ai-ee-nu) and the word for Dog (Inu - 犬) in Japanese sound "almost" the same because that is how "most" Japanese perceive the Ainu.

So IF the Ainu talk about a Black Sun, then main stream Japan rejects this as supestitious or mythological nonsense.

However:

Ainu mythology features story about a "black dead Sun" describing it as the sun surrounded by fire and lightning in an account recorded by missionary John Batchelor.

Sadly this has morphed into another "eclipse" story - and yet - the difference with this vague recollection is that there have been many "solar" eclipses throughout modern history - but what makes this story more interesting is that do not display "fire and lightning" when they occur.

I would like to point out yet again, that eclipses do not last 3 or more days.

I currently live on the island of Hokkaido Japan and one of the Ainu "elders" has told me some very interesting "stories" which cannot be verified onlne so I dare not post them because I like to supply references where possible.

Not Eclipses.

It should be noted that there are many stories of Eclipses and then there are other stories of the sun disappearing for days and even weeks.

I am not interested in Eclipse stories.

Jerome of Prague ↟↟

When "Jerome of Prague" traveled among the heathen Lithuanians early in the fifteenth century, he found a tribe who worshipped the Sun, and idolized a large iron hammer.

The priests informed him that once the Sun had been invisible for many months because a powerful king had imprisoned him (the sun) in a strong tower, but the signs of the zodiac had broken open the tower with this very hammer, and released the Sun, therefore they worshipped it.

This ties in with my theory that Odin represented a Red sun and a Black sun (hence the one eye) and that Thor was actually their way of describing meteorites.

Why do I say that "Thor" was describing Meteorites?

There are a few reasons:

1) Thor was Odin's son so Thor came (literally) from Odin and the destruction caused was not directly attributed to Odin per se so another "entity" had to be responsible.

2) Thor's hammer (Mjolnir) could change its size from small to massive (hence its ability to smash mountains).

In the Prose , due to Loki's interference during its creation, the hammer was made with a short handle.

However, it is explicitly described as having the ability to shrink down so small that Thor could hide it inside his shirt or pocket.

is described as impossibly heavy and powerful, often requiring Thor to use his belt of strength (Megingjörð) and iron gloves (Járngreipr) to wield it.

3) It is interesting that there is a Chinese legend of the which is similar to Thor smashing "stuff" and being the god of lightning and thunder which is what happens when come crashing into Earth's atmosphere.

4) Is it a coincidence that Odin has 2 "ravens" which go before "him" while the Hopi and the Maya have the 2 "Brothers" who go before the "White Brother" that is supposed to end the 4th cycle or that Christians have the 2 Witnesses and the Baháʼí Faith also have 2 witnesses etc.

If you are interested in a very interesting read about Comets in history, try this book called (by Amedee Guillemin) covers the scientific, mythical and superstitious overview of comets over the last few thousand years.

For people with a sense of humor, look up "Who was the whitest Norse god?".

Interestingly, regarding Isis and Osiris: Isis is depicted as a Black sun coming from the constellation SAH (Orion).

Finland ↟↟

Kalevala (Finnish mythology) the old witch Louhi (Loki) steals the Sun for herself and hides it under a mountain, leaving the entire world in darkness.

Taiwan ↟↟

The Legend of Sun-Moon Lake.

The Shao people of Taiwan claim that once there was a loud BOOM, the earth shook and then the sun disappeared. Then there was another loud BOOM, the earth shook and the moon disappeared.

Egypt ↟↟

In the , the "sage" Nefeti is claimed to have told Pharaoh , saying, "In what dread state is this land, the sun is obscured and gives no light that man may see".

"Man cannot live when storm clouds hover".

It is clearly stated thatthe person saying this (Nefeti) is a "Sage" (whse man / person) and if you have studied above basic Egyptology, you will know that the Dynastic Egyptians were well versed in "Celestial Events" which included solar eclipses.

The "heavens" referred to the (which we still use today) and so why would the sage Nefeti make such a claim when he would have been fully aware of the transition time of these events?

Plus it was deemed worthy of being recorded.

is also called Ohirume no Muchi no Kami, which means ''The Great Sun of the Kami is said to have disappeared for many days, and some Shinto priests I have spoken with say Amaterasu did not shine properly for weeks.

Greek ↟↟

PART 1

Phaethon (Fae-thon), son of Sol (the sun) and Clymene, who had secretly rode Sols "chariot" and due to his inexperience, he rose too high above the earth where Jupiter struck him with a thunderbolt and everything started to burn.

In order to have a reason for destroying the whole race of mortals, Jupiter (Jove / Zeus) pretended he wanted to put out the fire; so he opened all of the rivers, and all the human race perished.

Flood Myth

Deucalion (the son of Prometheus in Greek mythology) and his wife Pyrrha survived to repopulate the planet.

PART 2

On the page, I show that most celestial gods are actually planets or suns.

Cronus ate his children because a prophecy foretold they would overthrow him, just as he overthrew his own father, Uranus, so he swallowed them at birth to prevent this fate, but his wife Rhea saved the last child named Zeus who later returned to defeat Cronus and free his siblings.

Cronus is the Greek god of time (and a wider view of this could be interpreted as something recurring), and "Eating His Children" can quite easily be seen as The Planets (+moon etc) disappearing from view as the interloping sun (with its ) transited across our sun.

Sun-Catcher Myths ↟↟

Many "stories" of the sun disappearing for many days and darkness swallowing everything have become merged with Eclipse stories over the centuries.

The same "merging" has happened with the Sun-Catcher Myths so that as of today, it is very difficult to discern between one or the other.

Book Of Joshua ↟↟

We also have a biblical reference in the Book of Joshua (Chapter 10, verses 12-13) where the sun stood still for approximately one full day.

The only reason that I include this is because while it has nothing to do with the sun disappearing for days - in fact it is the opposite - it shows us that we really do not know everything that happens in the universe.
